The logo exhibits the identity of the Parish and Father Gustavo in its simplest form. I wanted to join different elements that represented Saint James. Hence, my main inspiration was the statue of Saint James the Great, located in The Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Spain.
The statue has a big, gold crown in the shape of a Scallop Shell, which is an important symbol of Saint James. The diamonds at the top represent the twelve apostles, six on each side, and the middle one embodies Jesus.
It was also key to include the Saint James cross as it is another valuable representation of him.
Last, but not least, are the three Theological virtues: Faith, Hope, and Love. I decided to add them because these symbols embody core beliefs that Father Gustavo applies in his life as a priest and teaches them to his community.
